...a bridesmaid.

Well, it was more than a day, but it was wonderful! Spending time with your good friends, looking back on great times, dancing the night away....what more can I say? OH I GUESS I SHOULD MENTION THE PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES!! Needless to say I was in my element.

...an Indian novel.

Or, an indian novel reader. If I was really an Indian novel I would wax poetic about the simple things, rarely have what the west considers a happy ending, I would seem to never end and I would definitely be unavoidably un-meshed in the past.

Recent favorites,

A Suitable Boy, Seth Victram.
A Fine Balance, Rohinton Mistry.

Influences,

...a poe fan.

Something about spring reminds me of Mr Edgar Allen Poe. It might be the effervescent birds, the raw earth, the feeling of impending drastic change, or it might just be that I took the history of Poe in the spring. Either way, here are a few other things that have been reminding me of eap.

The locket is for sale on Etsy.com. It is a mermaid/pit and the pendulum locket.

...a wild child.

Recently J. Crew has released it's spring inventory and I am in love.

I can't show you pictures, because it would be a breach of all sorts of things, but I will update this post with pictures as soon as possible of the tee shirt with silk puffy sleeves, the lime and grey printed skirt that has to be from the seventies, and the endless v nick tee shirts in fresh colors I plan on wearing everyday this summer with a silk scarf as a headband and my faded blue jeans.

Relaxation comes in an outfit, the lifestyle follows, and I have found my outfit of choice.

...a blunt cut.

Last week I decided I needed a change. That is a lie. Three months ago I decided I needed a change. Last week I decided that a hair cut was the form that change would come in. Here was my inspiration.

And here is the result.

I love it.

...an absent sister.

Today I miss my little sister Michelle more than ever, because it is the day before her birthday and she has been on my mind. Birthdays aren't a terribly big deal where we come from, so the little things we do get around to mean a lot. On birthday mornings there are no presents, rarely cheery greetings, and no sleeping in. What we do enjoy (lick the plate type) are more waffles than we can eat. Mom breaks out the strawberries and anything else in season and piles on the whipped cream. This isn't actually the unusual part; the thing we Farnsworth children look forward to the most is commanding the 'you are special' plate. It is the one time a year we have something to ourselves.

In lieu of a special plate (or the proper planning that might have delivered one on time) here is this birthday wish for my birthday sister,

I hope you feel special tomorrow! And that you have something all to yourself, wether it be a moment or a gift that arrives on time.

Love you Michelle.

...a country type reader.

Spending time reading is an everyday thing for me still, despite my part time job, full time school and obsessive compulsive personality. Recently I have enjoyed and wanted to share A Glass Castle with everyone. It is one of those feel good inspiring books that is TRUE and also involves homeless people. I have also been read The Day No Pigs Would Die, which was interesting...and strange, The Ox-Bow Incident which is supposed to be an example of great western writing, and The Stranger, which is a French translation that really reminds me of Emmanuel Levinas, who was also French, so that was interesting. I just realized that all these books have a sort of countryside feel/setting. I think I am going to put on my Wrangler Xmas music and get my self to school, after finishing my chores (which thankfully don't involve animals or tromping through snow).
